The Call of Duty official announces that they will use AI technology to moderate the voice chat toxicity with launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III this November 10. And Activision will cooperate with Modulate to deliver global real-time voice chat moderation on a large scale with  the upcoming Call of Duty blockbuster this fall.

According to the blog on Call of Duty website, the new voice chat moderation system of Call of Duty utilizes the AI-Powered voice chat moderation technology called ToxMod from Modulate to deal with the toxic speech in real-time. And the toxic speech includes hate speech, discriminatory language, harassment and more. The blog also mentions that the Call of Duty anti-toxicity team will develop the the ongoing moderation systems including text-based filtering across 14 languages for in-game text such as username and the in-game player reporting system.

In addition, Call Of Duty decides to begin an initial beta in North America on August 30, 2023. The initial beta will be released firstly in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone, and a full worldwide release except Asia will be start on November 10, 2023, the release date of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. The version only supports English at the beginning, and additional languages follows later.

In addition, the blog notes that Call of Duty has worked hard against the toxic speech since the  launch of Modern Warfare II. Over 1 million accounts that violate the Call of Duty Code of Conduct have been restricted voice chat or text chat, even both. Meanwhile, they express gratitude to community for their efforts in combating disruptive behavior and commit to working with our community to continue to make Call of Duty fair and fun for all.
